SaskTel Now Offers MGM Movies On Demand
SaskTel today announced that it has entered into a multi-year video-on-demand distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) for MGM feature films. SPTI, the exclusive international television distributor of MGM's catalogue of product, will provide MGM titles for SaskTel's Max Front Row video-on-demand service. This agreement allows SaskTel to provide Max Front Row customers with access to MGM's impressive line-up of current releases and its existing film library.
We're thrilled that SaskTel has expanded our relationship with this agreement to feature MGM titles on Max Front Row, said Peter Iacono, SPTI's Executive Vice President, Distribution. MGM has a legendary history in film and SPTI is proud to make MGM titles available to Max Front Row customers.
This agreement with Sony Pictures Television International for MGM movies expands the choices our Max Front Row service has to offer our more than 42,000 Max customers, said Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO. SaskTel will continue to focus on product enhancements and value-added services that will increase the overall quality and selection of our Max product offering.
With Max Front Row, viewers do not have to watch movies at pre-designated times, unlike traditional pay-per-view services. Movies are accessed through a set-top box and a customer's television for 24 hours and can be viewed as often as desired during that period. In addition, customers have DVD-like control over the movies, including the ability to fast forward, rewind, pause or stop.
SPTI will provide recent hit MGM movies such as Beautyshop, The Amityville Horror, Madison and Into the Blue. In addition, SaskTel will have access to MGM's vast library of titles including such hits as Fargo, Four Weddings and A Funeral, Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man, Silence of the Lambs and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).
