SaskTel Inks Video-on-Demand Agreement with Paramount Pictures
SaskTel today announced it has entered into a non-exclusive Video-on-Demand (VOD) agreement with Paramount Pictures in Canada. This agreement provides VOD rights for current and library titles, allowing for the addition of recent box office hits such as Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, starring Jim Carrey; Team America: World Police, featuring the voices of Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Coach Carter, starring Samuel L. Jackson to SaskTel's Max Front Row service.
"We are pleased to expand our VOD distribution into Canada and look forward to further enhancing the VOD experience for SaskTel customers through our strong product and marketing initiatives," said Alex Fragen, SVP Ancillary Market Sales, Paramount Domestic Pay Television.
"SaskTel is pleased to be leading the way in Canada by delivering the most extensive selection of new release movies of any Video-on-Demand provider in Canada," Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO said. The agreement with Paramount, together with our previous agreements with Warner Bros., Sony and Twentieth Century Fox provides our SaskTel Max Front Row customers with over 500 titles to choose from."
With Max Front Row, viewers access movies using nothing more than a set-top box and their television. The movies are available for 24 hours, can be viewed as often as desired and the customer has complete DVD-like control over the movies, including the ability to fast forward, rewind, pause or stop. The library of titles now exceeds 500 and includes movies from Alliance Atlantis, Warner Bros., Sony, Twentieth Century Fox and Paramount.
