SaskTel Signs Video-on-Demand Agreement
With Sony Pictures Television International

Regina, January 20, 2005 - SaskTel today announced that it has entered into a multi-year Video-on-Demand distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). SPTI will provide movies for SaskTel's Max Front Row™ Video-on-Demand service. This agreement will allow SaskTel to provide their Max Front Row customers with access to SPTI's impressive line-up of current releases and existing film library.

"Sony Pictures Television International is extremely pleased to partner with SaskTel to offer their customers access to this new and exciting home entertainment service" said Peter Iacono, Executive Vice President, Distribution, SPTI. “SaskTel is a leader in providing innovative products and services to its customers and we feel this agreement will further enhance their service offering.”

“This agreement with Sony Pictures Television International will expand the choices our Max Front Row service has to offer our more than 25,000 Max customers,” said Robert Watson, SaskTel President and CEO. “SaskTel is committed to continuing to focus on product enhancements and value-added services that will increase the overall quality and selection of our Max product offering.”

With Max Front Row viewers do not have to watch movies at pre-designated times, unlike traditional pay-per-view services. Customers can also enjoy all the benefits of renting a movie without ever leaving their homes. Movies are accessed through a set-top box and a customer's television for 24 hours and can be viewed as often as desired during that period. In addition, customers have VCR-like control over the movies, including the ability to fast forward, rewind, pause or stop.

SPTI will be providing current hit movies such as Spider-Man 2, White Chicks, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Little Black Book and Breakin' All the Rules. In addition SaskTel will have access to Sony's vast library of titles including such hits as Hook, Jumanji, Bad Boys, Steel Magnolias, The Cable Guy and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
