Bethany Gorfine
President and CEO

A leading industry professional for over 20 years, Bethany Gorfine, President and CEO of Federal Hill Communications provides leadership and guidance through the maze of VOD and content procurement. Her comprehensive background within VOD offers Federal Hill clients from around the world the ability to achieve and maximize their visions within this burgeoning industry. With technology costs lowering, operators launching, programming choices becoming more abundant, it is crucial to make the right economic deals and content decisions. Ms. Gorfine’s established relationships and skillful negotiations within the industry have proven successful in facilitating and negotiating VOD rights to theatrical releases from top Hollywood studios. In addition to deal making, she provides expertise in the areas of programming, marketing, and advertising solutions that will be crucial to a client’s VOD offering.

Ms. Gorfine’s extensive industry career has forged associations with varied entertainment facets including Rolling Stone Magazine where she launched Rolling Stone Radio on the ABC Radio Networks. Her tenure with newly launched Arista Records under Clive Davis aligned her with such recording artists as Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Barry Manilow, The Kinks, and The Outlaws. Moving into the television-broadcasting arena, she worked for Dow Jones and was responsible for the introduction of its successful syndicated television series, “The Wall Street Journal Report” which still airs today. Ms. Gorfine also played an integral role in the sales, marketing and promotion of independent and studio produced first-run and off-network syndicated television programming for over ten years working with LBS, TPE, and ACI.

Realizing the vast potential and opportunities that the VOD marketplace presented, Ms. Gorfine launched Federal Hill Communications in 1993 to meet the needs of this emerging industry. She was directly responsible for overseeing one of the VOD industry’s first field trials for Sprint, where was responsible for their strategy, content, marketing, promotion, and customer services.

As the client list expanded, so did the services of Federal Hill. Today, Federal Hill is a full-service company based on “inception to completion” management. Federal Hill Communications is a leading provider and facilitator of video-on-demand worldwide. Programming specialists provide expertise in the areas of negotiation and licensing from the Hollywood studios; guiding and assisting in the selection and marketing of current theatrical and library releases from top Hollywood studios, the programming of non-theatrical entertainment from independent producers.
